Pain and Loss of Motion in Right Shoulder
Physical therapy can help you get back to your life and the things you love in so many ways.
On our blog, we love to celebrate this by sharing success stories straight from our patients (with their permission, of course!). Today, please enjoy Vivian’s story and how we helped her reach her goals for pain relief and range of motion improvement.
About Vivian
Vivian is a local psychologist in Durham who came to see us at NC Center for Physical Therapy for PT. She was experiencing pain and loss of motion in her right shoulder.
Our goals for Vivian’s physical therapy treatment
In listening to Vivian’s goals, Vivian’s PT, Sarah Russell, put together a treatment plan that helped her:
Increase Postural Strength
Decrease Pain
Return patient to prior level of function via increasing pain-free range of motion
Here’s what Vivian shares about reaching her goals through physical therapy at NCCPT.
What was your initial goal when you first came to physical therapy?
“Get full range of motion back in my right shoulder, which had become more and more painful.”
How did your physical therapist help you succeed in reaching your goal?
“She assessed that the pain was probably not from a tear of any kind, then started working with me on loosening up and strengthening the muscles in my shoulder and upper back. Soon, I was able to reach high shelves and reach down for things on the floor without pain!”
We were so glad to help Vivian improve her range of motion and resolve her shoulder pain. She is one of our many patients that we’ve partnered with in the past 10+ years of our clinic.
